Beyond Picking

We begin our Beyond Picking section with a focus on perfecting the sweep technique. The objective is to transition from arpeggio to arpeggio without any hesitation, in a smooth, musical manner. Play through this example in a slow and precise manner and increase the speed gradually. Remember, you must play it slow and smooth before you can play it fast and smooth. If new to this technique, I suggest that you complete the lesson entitled “Introduction to Sweep Picking” found in the “Precision Picking Essentials” section, before attempting this lesson.
